The U.S. District Court in Minnesota in a precedent breaking decision held that the Limitation of Liability Act is NOT applicable to recreational boats. While this decision is contra the other circuits, it is a setback in attempts by recreational vessel owners to limit exposure under this Act. See Baldassano v. Larsen, 580 F. Supp. 415 (D.C. Minn 1984).
