The author, Benjamin J. Cantor, is a pioneer in the field of forensic photography. He has degrees in both law and engineering and since much of his life has been involved in expert testimony, he is well qualified to address the issues of interest to both the expert and the attorney regarding the role of an expert witness.
Perhaps because of his background and interests, a significant portion of the appendixes have been devoted to demonstrative evidence. This covers an area not normally discussed by other authors of books on experts, and yet is so important in providing the clarity and understanding to the expert's testimony thereby aiding the trier of fact (jury or judge) understand what the expert is trying to convey in the court room.
We recommend this book and feel it will help the reader understand what is expected of the expert and how he can best provide his services when testifying.
