One of our Associates, Captain Jon Helmick, points out that our comment in the Fall 1994 issue of the EXPERT that "the only definition for which weight applies is displacement tonnage" is incorrect. Deadweight tonnage, the carrying capacity of a vessel, is also a measure of weight. He's correct.
