MEC is a referral service for experts with maritime and marine pollution disciplines. If you need an expert, send us a fax request (or you can phone and talk to a person too). A sample of the disciplines is provided on page seven, but these are only a few of the more frequently requested disciplines.
Charges for our service vary. If you merely want an expert’s name and phone number, it’s $50. If you want a CV or resume, add $10 more. If you want 24 hour service, it is $100. In almost all cases, the recommended expert is interviewed by an attorney prior to making our recommendation.
This disadvantage of using a fax is that at times, the office is not manned. There is currently no way of getting a fax forwarded. This will change next year when we can have that done too. The phone messages are checked daily and returned the following working day.
