Over 1400 maritime and marine environmental experts receive this newsletter in addition to approximately 7500 attorneys, maritime oriented and government officials, and other interested people. Our business is to put together our highly qualified expert Associates with people interested in using their services.
The names of a few of the experts receiving this newsletter have been acquired from various sources and the individuals have not been personally contacted. If you are an expert desiring to use our services, you must contact us and provide background information before we will refer you to prospective clients.
We attempt to refer only well qualified persons. Towards that end we use several quality controls.
In order to become an Associate, you must be recommended by either a client or another expert. Then, before being recommended for a specific assignment , you undergo a pre-qualification interview by Captain Greiner, a licensed attorney. Lastly, after the assignment is completed, we request an evaluation by the client. While a single evaluation is important, future referrals are not based on it alone. However, a series of similar evaluations will be given great weight.
While there are a number of expert referral services, to our knowledge, none requires as small a fee as ours, and none specializes in maritime disciplines. The largest general referral service adds as much as 50% to the consultants fee. Others add 20%. Our fees are between $50 and $100 to the client (see the form on page 6), and 10% to the Associate exclusive of costs.
Our referrals are guaranteed. If a client feels the person referred is not qualified, the client charge will be refunded, no questions asked.
If you are seeking a maritime or marine environmental expert, you can acquire the best qualified ones through MEC at the lowest cost.
