SLIP & FALL PRACTICE  (Fall 89)

a book review

Slip and fall injuries are the frequent subject of litigation both ashore and afloat. However, the environment in which the accident occurs afloat is slightly different than ashore.

On deck, particularly on a working vessel, water is usually present. It can also be tracked throughout the interior of the vessel. The vessel is also a moving platform. Inertia effects of the roll or pitch complicate the cause of the slip and fall and should be taken into consideration when examining the accident.

However, the basics are the same as ashore.

Slip & Fall Practice, is written by an engineer/attorney/expert who has been retained in over 6000 cases and testified in approximately 500 of them. While it is primarily directed to the attorney reader, it is an excellent book for an expert involved in such cases. It provides the expert with the perspective of the attorney, but at the same time guides him in the careful preparation of the case.

It covers:

Slip & Fall Practice provides a variety of practical tips, procedural how-to's and checklists to help both the attorney and the expert prepare for litigation. The reader is taken step by step from the initial investigation through discovery and trial.

We recommend this book for both the expert and the attorney. They will profit from its use, as will their client.
