The Federal Pilot of the ARCO ANCHORAGE was assessed $30,000 for causing an oil spill when the vessel grounded in Port Angeles harbor, Washington on December 21, 1985. The State Pollution Control Hearings Board denied his appeal this summer after extensive hearings. A MEC Associate did the investigation of the grounding for the State, and together with another MEC Associate, testified before the Board.
