TAPES AND BOOKS ON EXPERTS  (Fall 86)

MEC has a library of tapes and books on the use of expert witnesses. They are available on loan for a period of two weeks after receipt by the borrower for a small handling charge plus a deposit. The deposit is returnable when the borrowed material is returned in good condition in a timely manner. Late returns will be charged $10 per week or fraction thereof.

1. Expert Witnesses by Irving Younger—Three tapes and a booklet by one of the most popular CLE lectures in the country. Includes pretrial considerations, use of the expert’s testimony in court, cross-examination of the expert witness and arguing the expert’s credibility. $60 deposit of which $50 is returnable if the material is returned in good condition in a timely manner.

2. Effective Use of Experts by six lecturers at the 1985 ATLA convention—Three cassettes. Contains material on: What your expert can do for you from investigation through trial, direct examination of a human factors expert (MEC has several), cross-examination of a human factors analyst, how to prepare your expert, how to find and evaluate your expert s and what to pay them. $45 deposit of which $35 is returnable if the material is returned in good condition in a timely manner.

3. Using The Expert Witness—Three cassettes and a 70 page book relating to non-traditional experts. Contains material on the source of experts, biochemical engineers, human factors specialists, aviation engineers and investigators, psychologists and rehabilitation experts. $70 deposit of which $60 is returnable if the material is returned in good condition in a timely manner.
